a gorgeous catastrophe

I am a spark

blown by the wind

I never get to stay

I never quite fit in

Everything I touch

Seems to turn to cin

Hello, again!

I'm somewhere new

I take it in

I like the view

Behind me now

A cloudy hue

Of where I've been,

What could I do?

My curiosity is endless

My wonder knows no bounds

When I make connections

I burn them to the ground

Listen how they cheer

Pop-Hiss go the sounds

You can't understand

The joy I have found

I love these things

You call them trees

They help me dance

Upon the breeze

I jump and leap

Among the leaves

I scale the branches

I dive and weave

I become them and

they become me

The crackling sound

of transferred energy

When extinguished

You claim catastrophe

I'm just part of the cycle

No need to wet your eyes

I am needed for growth

Though I am quite despised

Loved for my warmth

When you need to survive

Or when I illuminate a path

Hidden by shadows of disguise

I am allowed to exist

When I benefit your lies

but I will scorch the Earth

To cleanse and to baptize

and just like the phoenix

Life again will rise
