Finding Targets
Anticipation
within the boundaries of anticipation is a yearning,
a need,
a need to be fulfilled within the bounty of desire,
reaching for perfection, we encounter defeat,
traipsing on we chance rejection,
we seek relief,
we buffer the scars,
where now do we aim the arrow,
what target remains unscathed?,
profound belief dwells in the heart of truth,
in the soul of integrity,
do we proceed beyond the imagined, or,
retreat to the past,
foregoing the future,
dwelling on the moment,
clinging to the obvious,
finding the unknown while visualizing our aim,
visualizing what’s to be,
having now discovered that,
choice remains the unscathed target!

Life is a constant challenge, and we cringe at the down times. There's one thing that it's not: boring. Have you noticed that nothing is one-dimensional? Our relationships are dynamic and viewable from many perspectives. We live in a varied, multi-cultural world; with such a melting pot, people bring varied views to the table. Hence, our situations are varied and dynamic as well.

Reaching Out
I promise her. I'd do anything for her. She's my mom. Even as Lanie and Deanna are flying home, Mom is scrappy fighting dying. She lays too still in that too-big bed with all the toasty white hospital blankets, in the south tower, at the broad end of a long slow-turning corner that delivers me again to her private room with the view she can't see through, with the beeping that tells us nothing new, and all these ice chips she can't swallow, and a flood of well-intentioned nurses who cannot do a damned thing all the same.
