Finding Myself

Smashing grey rocks to find the geode inside

An elegy

Written in memory

Of the person I was

Meant to be

Yet, never got the chance

To grow and form

The jagged crystalline

Structure

And shining low

Opacity

Of this

Glittering

Arrangement

Of minerals

˚⟡⊰⋆:💎:⋆⊱⟡˚

Inclusions only

Giving me

Character and

A storied history

Perfection –

A tragic farcical

Mystery

˚⟡⊰⋆:💎:⋆⊱⟡˚

Truth

Empowers and

Propels me

As thousands fall

In the crusted

Sanguine dust

˚⟡⊰⋆:💎:⋆⊱⟡˚

Though all languish

Radiant and bleeding

In the hour of need

I walk the path

Without hesitation or

Relief

˚⟡⊰⋆:💎:⋆⊱⟡˚

My soul

Emerges

Refined

Burnished

Shining in the

Bleak

Rays of morning

Exposed and

Glowing

˚⟡⊰⋆:💎:⋆⊱⟡˚

Smelted of

All impurities

Given over to the day

After a lifetime

Roaming

The haint tainted

Night
