Find Someone Hideous

A humorous poem

If you’ve beauty and grace,

You are something to chase.

When you’re witty and wise,

You are seen as a prize.

*

But I’m here to tell you

That others have value.

You may not have heard,

But I’ll give you the word…

*

Find someone hideous and not so smart

And they’ll most likely have a hungry heart.

They are easy to reel in,

They developed thicker skin,

And they may be less likely to depart.

*

Some are slow to win over and reluctant to trust,

But if you succeed, you’ll find their friendship is robust.

They are so eager to please,

With a tickle and a squeeze,

And you don’t even need to worry about lust.

*

Yes, find someone hideous and not so smart,

And they’ll most likely have a hungry heart.

Just maybe you will find

That you’re both of like mind,

But beware of their aim –

They may view YOU the same!

But at least you’ll both be less likely to depart.
