with quiet certainty
that something has gone missing.
This is expected.
It will not pass.
Please note:
Earth is no longer available.
It cannot be found on any map.
Do not search the stars for it.
Do not ask the crew
to explain what is already gone.
Warning:
Only one other crew
remains on the ship.
Memory systems are now accessible.
Engagement will restore:
who you were,
why you chose this,
who stayed awake
while you slept.
Please be advised:
once remembering begins
there is no pause,
no reversal,
no emergency exit.
If distress occurs,
seek comfort in what remains:
shared oxygen,
shared warmth,
shared silence.
