Fight or Flight

He Said. She Said. I Said.

My life is spinning out of my control

I'm trapped in the eye of my own tornado

Lost in a sea that feels greater than the universe

The burden is fear

The weight, unbearable

Sinking, drowning, holding on

The rope is short and the line about to snap

My mind is riddled with doubt and chaos

Reality is slipping

The drop is unending

Insecurity begins to drown out the confidence

The man is fading into a whisper caught in the wind

His body is tired, weary and struggling to keep floating

Head above water

Barely breathing

My will to fight is being overwhelmed

My heart keeps arguing with my head

The road has become long and the journey hard

My demons are growing louder, the light at the end, darker

Human or shadow

Fight or flight
