I got to see the sunset

There were no clouds

So the sun got the entire

sky to herself

As darkness settles in

She is still painting the sky

Deep orange fading to peach

Fading to purple fading to blue

In a defiant last stroke

She is not giving up

the canvas easily

Her blazing gown is stil

Kissing the horizon

Lingering

The stars are blushing

As she holds tightly

To the horizon

Her fiery remnant

Pales the darkness.
