Feel Alive
Inspired By Clarisse from Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451
As you sit underneath the breathing trees
And as your soul is caressed by the smell
Of sweet mangoes married to the tenderness of the breeze
Look at the spirits in the far macrocosm
Look at your boundless home
And feel how such a small frame completes it
Feel how such a small mind brings the slightest change
Slight it might be, still it must happen
Guided by what you love and embraces your heart
And although uncommon whirlwinds strike
They bring gusts that are meant to fly on
This is a reality that needs to be cherished
And sensed broad beneath your skin and consciousness
A reality where you flow in a bittersweet stream
Not shunning the estuary
Enjoy scrutinizing every detail of life
Turn around, look around and realize
That you can touch, taste, smell, hear, and see
Fathom the magic inside you
And don’t fear to feel.
And offer yourself to your existence
Observe the faces of creatures that walk the earth
All the expressions, the smiles, the patterns, the silhouettes
Uncover their feelings and learn how to heal yourself
Take them in your arms, save them from the cold and wish for their happiness
Afterall, it’s an infinite circle
A circle that reunites everything
A circle made of everything
A circle made of the same fragments, linked by their energies
Give a special place to your comrades
Their roots clinch to the universe
Feel their energies mixing with yours as you breathe with them
Search for the veins in the leaves
Sleep under the protection of the orb of night
Lie in the fields, smell the air’s mellow concoction
Feel the melody of the night and days sway together
Feel your body functioning, your blood racing in your veins, your skin reacting, your eyes watering, your sweat dripping, your eyes widening and as you feel time stop
Feel alive
