Fear

A poem

By McKenzie CairnsPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

Softly sliding through the dust

What happens in darkness

Lost to the falling dusk

Encroaching a rage so rapid

Eyes misted with bloodlust

And her, uncaring and vapid

Close to embracing the endless void

She knows not of her fate

Or does, and awaits it stoic

On principle, he hunts

In his hands he holds her fate

Her breasts ample and plush

Rising with her gait

He lies await out of sight

And listens for her approach

She only gave a little fight

Unused to being touched

Her chances fading like the light

She attempts to flee her captor

The thrill of this desperate chase

Lending to the monsters’ rapture

She will not escape today, no

The last sound she hears is laughter

And now she lies cold and breathless

Blood slowly pooling in her clavicle

There is no justice for such solemn moments

Morning will never come

For those unaware of what lurks at night

Will never find their way home
