Fear VS. Courage

Choose courage

Fear VS. Courage

Fear is a chemical reaction
Adrenaline rushing
Heart beating in your ears
Instinct hijacks
Bodily control
Logic fades to
Internal unconsciousness
Every time red flags wave
Beads of panic
Roll down a furrowed brow
Survival the only goal
Whether you run or fight
The process continues
Narrowing sight

Courage is a choice
Steady your breathing
Expel the dead air
Don’t shrink back
Or flee
In panic-ridden despair
Drive the tremors
From your hand
Close your eyes
Decide before
You've been thrown
Into the deep end
Visualize not letting yourself
Give in
Practice ways you can
Make a stand
Let muscle memory
Take your hand
Leading you to safety

Fear summons Adrenaline's power
Courage is the steady hand
Pulling the trigger
Fear dictates caution
Erects impenetrable walls
Courage breaks the mortar of
Rigid standing orders
