Hide my truth out of sight,

Let the day wait before those common gorse

Your face of trust without a ring

I never said… I hated him

Tender moments taken on his phone

So that when he leaves the door will hold

*

Come age and beauty… for time will hold

Nothing changed, in your mind, to change then; your sight

To be… just a picture in his phone

Come, let’s hide behind the common gorse

Am I just another child to him?

Will a child come forth without a ring?

*

Pillow talks, despise the ring,

So that patience became the thing to hold

But I won’t tell you to leave him

He’s the only thing that blocks your sight

Not the pictures near the common gorse

That lay in wait inside his phone

*

Are you a home more than his phone?

A rounded stomach to carve a ring

Stay. Watch it grow like the common gorse

So the child will have someone to hold

Life is hard without an end in sight

I fear the soaring rage, I fought for him

*

It’s eyes, ears and tears will wait on him

Not pixels, swipe right and dates on your phone

Don’t be the reason your child loses sight

When mommy enters without a ring

hardened heart becomes a thing to hold

will not be softened by the common gorse

*

Consternation at the common gorse

I fear for you, I fear for him

There’s no one else, for us to hold

When we are gone, right from his phone

Too late now, for that rounded ring

Bed of pain, a well of sorrow, gone from sight

*

Empty heart inside an empty phone

Determined mind, towards a better him … for him

I hope his past will let grow, conscience… in … his sight

A/N: Thank you so much for stopping by. I used this poem, as a sort of template, so to speak. Sestina by Elizabeth Bishop. Thank you for reading if you got this far. Oh, and this poem — the words, topic, emotions, IS true to what I am going through.

Not as smooth as I would like it to be, but publishing anyway. I am also, so very sleepy. ♥️🙏🏽🤗
