Subtle pressure
like a giant thumb being pressed upon your being
letting up
pressing down
letting up
a cold sweat
covers too heavy to lift
pressing down
letting up
watching without eyes
sizing up the thing
resisting
listening
for a rustle in the corner
the sound of breathing
but only silence
and weight
letting up
and darkness
pressing down
and now you are running
you can hear breathing
echoing through the alley behind you
footsteps mimic yours
outpace yours
a soundless scream
and a brick wall
and darkness
letting up
and weight
pressing down
eyes in the corner
a soundless scream
