A Sentimental Journey Through the Toys That Meant the Most to Us as Children, and the Memories They Hold

From teddy bears to toy cars,

Our favorite toys, that took us far.

They were more than just objects, they were our friends,

A world of imagination, that we could depend.

They had names, and personalities too,

Our favorite toys, that always came through.

We played for hours, with laughter and glee,

A world of adventure, that was always free.

They were there for us, in times of need,

Our favorite toys, that we would feed.

With love and attention, we cared for them too,

A world of responsibility, that we would pursue.

They were our confidants, our secret keepers,

Our favorite toys, that made us sleepers.

We told them our dreams, our fears and hopes,

A world of trust, that helped us to cope.

They may have been just toys, to some,

But to us, they were everything, a world of fun.

They hold memories, that we will always treasure,

A world of nostalgia, that will always measure.

So let's hold them close, and never let go,

Our favorite toys, that helped us grow.

A world of innocence, that we will always miss,

But in our hearts, a world of love, that will always exist.

Absolutely beautiful. This poem truly hit home. I was a huge fan of stuffed animals and toys as a kid. I treated them like they were my own kids. Please check out an acrostic poem I wrote about stuffed animals! https://vocal.media/poets/stuffed-toys
