Fatherly Advice

Flesh of my flesh be not the enemy of mine

Tear not into one another over little things

Fight only when it's necessitated and it's fine

For not everybody you cross will bring glad tidings

---

Life will not offer you everything you wanted, son

But at the end, if you're patient, it delivers what's deserved

Dig deep and hard, give it your all and try to have fun

Remember not to lose your track, even if you swerved

---

Rest not until the strength wains inside your frame

Life is forever to be too short for the travelers desire

Treat every adventure as if you're winning the game

Cross no bridges that you once set completly on fire

---

Take time to stop and smell the roses aromatic scent

Worry not of things that are done by others and out of your reach

For you'll learn enough lessons along the way, and time's better spent

If you can manage to remember my mistakes, and what I'd tried to teach

---

Take not for granted, as nothing worth having is worth losing

Appreciate each opportunity you stumble upon along the way

Try not to let your guard down carousing and boozing

Unless you've already gone out, been lucky, and won the day

---

Fret not your broken hearted soul right now

For that was only number two in the line of the loves you'll share

It may seem impossible, but someday you'll understand how

And again, you'll learn, that it's alright to care

---
