Father and Daughter

Echoes of Generational Change.

In the kitchen, words hang heavy,

A father's comment, sharp and ready.

Daughter's anger flares, a sudden flame,

But memory whispers a different name.

Sacrifices made, dreams deferred,

For her future, no effort spared.

A paradox of love and pain,

Two words collide, again, again.

Between them stretches a chasm wide,

Of time and change, a swelling tide.

But look - a bridge begins to form,

Of understanding, hesitant, warm.

Planks of patience, nails of grace,

Slowly connect this fragile space.

Each step across, a choice to hear,

To listen close, to hold dear.

Now at the table, they quietly sit,

Steam from chai rises, thoughts emit.

In silence shared, a new song's born,

Of love that bends, but isn't torn.

Father and daughter, eyes now meet,

Over spicy noodles, a peace complete.

Not perfect yet, but growing still,

This bridge of hearts, they choose to build.
