Father

A Letter

By Faith MariePublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

Oh daddy what happened that made you want to do drugs?

To think that you have to live your life like those hardcore thugs?

Did people forget to tell you how special you are?

Cause if they did daddy I'm sorry that they couldn't see you were a star.

I've always been your number one fan, right there by your side

My heart has always been with you no matter where you tried to hide.

Even after all the things people would say,

My faith in you never faded with each passing day.

Sometimes I feel silly for being the girl who misses her dad

But most days if I feel anything it's only sad.

I don't want to blame you because I know that it's not your fault

My grandma was the person who was suppose to put the trauma to a halt.

Did you know most nights I cried alone?

Cause in her house I was on my own.

Daddy can you believe that I have broken trust?

Cause my grandfather was a man filled with lust.

And after a few years I became an object

An emotionless, thoughtless, stupid thing for people's pathetic life project.

It's hard for me to tell you how I feel,

Because I feel i'll be rejected.

Considering the life Ive had its what's expected......

I can tell you the reason I started doing drugs

It was the closest thing I could get to comforting hugs.

All I want you to know is you're the best

In my heart you will stay even when I am laid to rest.
