Fate is a Liar
If I had it my own way...
Every scar that you've acquired, someone will trace
and admire.
So come at me with all your desires.
I believe fate is a liar.
It'll turn you inside out, run you jagged up and run you down,
drag you along on a line until the end of time.
If I had it my own way, I'd write us all a fateless day.
Even if you're damned if you do, you're sure as hell
damned if you don't.
You have to live outside the box, don't hesitate
to ignore that thing you call fate.
Don't try to blame the world for what you choose
to believe about yourself.
If you want to find that flame, you have to walk through fire
'cause fate is a liar.
Someone is going to love you, even though you're stitched up,
black and blue.
You say you don't believe it's true, but deep down,
I know you do.
Pull the wool down from your eyes.
You're the winner and you're the prize.
If I had it my own way, I'd write us all a fateless day.
If you want to find that flame, you have to walk through fire
'cause fate is a liar.
Is the time you spent together
worth a goodbye that lasts forever?
Is it better to have never loved him
than rue the day you ever met him?
If I had it my own way,
it would all make sense someday.
About the Creator

I've used fiction as an escape ever since I developed an imagination, and now I'm sharing pieces of my world with you. I'm a wife, mom, and an awkward introvert who professes her undying love to baristas in the drive through.
