Familiar Chasms
Hello darkness.
The wreckage
of intentionally derailed expectation
The hush
of the snuffed out flame of happiness
The chill, biting cold
of a familiar darkness
The tumultuous descent of an almost union
Hurdling toward the chasm it
JUST
Clawed its way out of
My bloodied fingers grip my pen as I begin again
To look within for the explanation
That place where no matter how much you brace yourself
As you retrace and replace yourself in scenarios conjured up with the best of intentions
You find yourself face to face with the demon of inevitability
Of circumstance
Was there nothing I could do to avoid this?
Perhaps not.
Maybe this was the slightly raised corner of the sidewalk upon which I stumble
That shatters the screen of my current comfort
Requiring a visit to a specialist
With a special list of parts, of lessons or something
That I’ll need for something further down the road
Maybe so.
For now I’ll wrap myself in a blanket of source energy
Release all that lovely heat and
Breathe.
Slowly.
In Cosmic hibernation
Inhaling stillness
Exhaling guilt
Inhaling abundance
Exhaling…toxins
Quietly
In my Cave
I gather up the pieces of myself
That I lost
In collision
With another universe
And await their return to my orbit
