Fallacy of Adoration

a poem by Solomon

fallacy of adoration by Solomon

In a world of escapism, where dreams take flight,

Where souls seek solace in the depths of the night,

There lies a tale of sorrow, of rulers gone astray,

And foolish people who blindly follow, come what may.

Amidst the shadows of this realm, where hope is but a dream,

The citizens suffer silently, their voices left unseen,

For the rulers, draped in power, abuse their every right,

Leaving the innocent to suffer, lost in endless plight.

Oh, how the promises were made, with words so sweet and kind,

But empty were their hearts, with malice in their mind,

They spoke of prosperity, of a future bright and grand,

Yet their actions spoke louder, a betrayal of their land.

The people, oh so foolish, with their hopes and dreams in tow,

Believed in false illusions, as their faith began to grow,

They idolized these rulers, with blind devotion in their eyes,

Unaware of the darkness that within them lies.

They placed their fate in hands that were tainted with deceit,

Unknowingly surrendering, their lives now incomplete,

For the rulers, they revelled in their power and their greed,

Leaving the citizens broken, their spirits left to bleed.

But amidst this tale of woe, there lies a bitter truth,

That ignorance and blindness are the catalysts of ruth,

For when we place our trust in those who do not deserve,

We become the architects of our own demise, I observe.

So let this be a lesson, a cautionary tale,

Of the dangers that await when we blindly set sail,

In a world of escapism, where reality is blurred,

We must open our eyes, and question every word.

For the rulers may continue, their abuses left unchecked,

And the people may continue, their hopes forever wrecked,

But in the depths of reality, a solemn truth remains,

That without remedy or resolution, we are bound in endless chains.
