It’s easy to send pawns to war
When you’re sitting on high as king.
But when the rooks and knights forever rest
The pendulum begins its downward swing
Then when the bishop tragically falls,
And mortality begins to sing.
You sit and ponder at what you’ve done
As the alarm bells ring.
You pull your queen beside you
And helplessly cling
As the deathblow comes nearer
Thus, ending the age of a once great king.
