Step Through a Picture

It never came with an instruction manual

It knew how to be itself

Built from endings, sparse as the trees lining miles of paved, littered pathways

Hollowed of direction

But filled with appreciated beauty.

Instruction manuals were created

Guides were written

Titled how to enjoy the 10th month,

Tempting you with pictures that smelled of crisp winds reaching earth's ends

With captions using big words like “enjoy the flora and fauna,” which seemed so unique

Flipping the page, chords of sweet aromas swept over you

With notes of aforementioned cinnamon-hued displays

Filling every sense with refreshment

Created by crumpled leaves and seasonal delights

That only come around once in a while
