Fake

Left out in the cold

With no mask to hide behind

No armor, no protection

No way to save myself

From the vicious accusations

Of all the prying eyes

No Fallacy to live inside

I stand alone

In the light of your hypocrisy

It burns with animosity

Your hollow gaze stares me down until I break

But I refuse to become a fake

To live a life that isn't mine

To conform within a society

That's based upon the falsities

Of owning a reputation

That's attached by default

To a name without a meaning

Worthy of the breath that feeds it's lie

I refuse to be that person That acts outside profession

In a world where detestation surrounds those that dare be genuine

So, I'll hold my head up high ant take

The choice of being lonely over that of being fake.
