Faith's Persistence

The city stirs—

a baker dusts flour from her hands,

a driver hums at a red light,

a mother braids her daughter’s hair,

her fingers patient, unhurried.

Across town, someone stands at a doorstep,

hands in their pockets, rehearsing hello.

Someone else presses send on a message

they were afraid to write.

A barista slides a coffee across the counter

to a stranger who needed warmth today.

On the other side of town,

a child ties their own shoes for the first time.

A traveler unfolds a map,

tracing a road they did not expect to take.

A hand reaches for another, and this time,

it is not withdrawn.

And here—

a girl in a yellow coat

leans into the wind, arms outstretched,

laughing as if balance were a game,

as if gravity itself might bend in her favor.

Not everything will be certain.

Not everything will be easy.

But still, the world tilts forward,

and we are carried with it—

step by step, breath by breath,

toward whatever comes next.
