Fair Game

Rex jumped up in a fit of pique

and said "Prickface you fuckin cunt"

he grabbed his gun kicked someone's dog

muttered a bit and ran out the front

dust lifted from a vehicle blew down main street

grey clouds blew the other way

Rex jumped on his black Norton Combat SS

and headed out North they say

all we could hear was the fading rumbling of his bike

as he headed full speed out of town

we knew Rex would eventually catch his prey

once he managed to run him down

we got bits of rumours that flew in off the road

some say he tracked prickface to Alice Springs

basically it was a lot of very different people

saying a lot of very different things

we got a good whisper a couple of months back though

from a reliable source in Katherine of all places

Rex had been in and ripped up the town

then it went all quiet and no more was really heard

not until the first week of the dry

a croc took another swimmer in a waterhole nearby

that’s four in three months that salty is going to die

Parks and Wildlife rangers went out until they got him

and then they brought him back to the pub

i guess you could say this is almost the end

but wait cause here is the rub

they found a human hand inside that eighteen foot salty

that had developed a taste for human flesh

was that our dear friend prickface?

well that’s any bodies guess

but a ring they found on the index finger

matched one prickface used to wear

now we know why the croc went rouge

and developed a taste for people i swear
