Facts of Being Unique

Past and Present

By Taylor AllenPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Undiscovered beauty

My favorite color is black.

The fact

Of black being my

Favorite color at the present,

And yes I resent it,

But that’s neither here

Or there,

Doesn’t make me

Unique.

No.

But actually,

Factually put,

It’s the fact

That when asked

Before, years before,

It can’t be ignored,

My favorite

Was always

Red.

Reflecting on how never

Did I ever think it could be blue.

For too much was concentrated

In that almost-there hue,

The uniqueness of primaries

Blending into mush,

Purple, dear royalty,

Made too much of a fuss.

The weight of it all,

Too heavy the crown,

So deeper still

The color bled.

Until it was black;

Because red is dead.
