Facing Thee

A poem by Lucas Diercouff

His sword as tall, and sharp as all. Yet, he stood... afraid to face the face of thee.

Scales smelted shard, Hell's fires made hard. Red skin not... afraid to face the face of he.

A shield seen war, the crest he's for. Saving those... afraid to face the face of thee.

The monster's scorch, the cave atorch. Making one... afraid to face the face of thee.

Face it he must, for it is just. Not to be... afraid to face the face of thee.

His gaping maw, a snaggled saw. Nary once... afraid to face the face of he.

Slicing! Slashing! Burning! Thrashing! Neither shuns... afraid to face the face of He.

Valiance strong, harsh and long.

Once afraid to face the face of thee.

The battle fought. Evil's end bought.

Finally, and no longer... afraid to face the face of thee.
