Why
Why, little one, does one so little spend so much time on this
For it seems a shame to see one such as thee always cry
Like a child in need of its mother's kiss
Why not brush it off and rejoice
There's such a world of wonder past those hills of despair
It seems more prudent to make your own way, to cement your choice
For when you do, you'll finally breathe free and enjoy a kinder air
Why cement one's legacy into the throes of such torment long since past
When just a little digging will show you a world you've not known
For the sins of then were not meant to everlast
There's still a world out there waiting for you; you've just not been shown
Why not embrace the sweet and unyielding release of forgiving
And then you might feel the sun upon your still unseasoned face
Get on with the business that you've neglected, the business of living
And release all that evil from within your beating place
Why
It may not be easy to let it all go
But why spend another minute thinking of that which makes you cry
For it is time that goes by, but never slow
Why give those who did wrong the rest of you
And rob yourself of what you haven't seen
You know what you have to do
Make your world new and clean
