As I lie in bed

The faces cluster in my head

An unending flood of chaos

Memories melting into one another

Time is an illusion of linearity

All things happening at once

There is no present

We forever live in the future-past

Always moving forward

But anchored to the shore of our pain

Slowing the development of our brain

A stain

On our consciousness

There is no way to resist

The past affecting the future

A photonic superposition of superstition

Making us believe we have control

Freewill

As we kill ourselves over everyday decisions

A paralysis of the soul

Yearning to be free

But freedom is the pain

Of emerging from the cocoon
