Surrealism for a Wednesday

Get me high enough to see the fine spiderwebs of the universe.

Force the impairment on me so that I can break open the blindness.

There is something wrapped around my throat but I can't see it.

Its tendrils anchor in the patterns of my brain, but I can't find it,

Only feel it as it moves, pulsing with each novel thought and desire.

.

I cannot be whole without knowing what kind of tendrils these are.

Am I chained to some cosmic intention or bound to some unknown love?

Is this a warning from the stars or a reminder to embrace arrogance?

How can I know what lies between the cards if I cannot even see them?

There is a gap in my knowledge and I have to fill the void before it fills me.

.

So let me run through the corridors of intoxication until it makes sense.

I need to see my reflection slip out of synchronization before I understand.

Let me dig my fingers into the evolved part of my brain and shred it to bits.

I need to be primal to absorb the language of the universe inside my head.

Don't stop me even if it looks like I am destroying the mechanism of sanity.

.

Please, just let me get high enough to see silhouettes through the cosmic fabric.

Let me get so turned around that I can actually understand my direction.

It isn't a matter of being lost or seeing things differently now but pursuing

An uneducation so severe that I lose every preconceived notion and finally

Can peer through these silken webs to the truth of the matter of it all.
