fear of missing out

By Bri CampbellPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

Hypnotized by a screen

as wide as a human hand,

mesmerized by beams,

radioactive mirror trance,

Absorbing bitter energies

in digital wonderland,

a dumpster fire calamity

in which most don’t understand,

Brain is addicted, body’s froze

catatonic chronic doubt,

friends are moving on their own

Is this the feeling of missing out?

Sense of self comatose

shake awake, scream and shout,

they’re living lavish through the phone

Yes, I fear I’m missing out…

People doing what they want,

and I fear I’m missing out.
