👀Eyes Wide Shut👀

👀 EYES WIDE SHUT 👀

If we choose to simply close our eyes,

we're blinded so easily by societal lies.

We lose our ability to rationalize,

and ultimately contribute to our own demise.

If we instead insist on opening our eyes,

we start to reveal what has been disguised,

and issues that have been minimized

instead of appropriately scaled in size.

Nothing changes…

If we always comply.

Nothing changes…

If we merely stand by.

Nothing changes...

If we won't question why,

Nothing changes…

If we blindly deny.

And if nothing changes…

our souls continue to die,

even though we are still alive…

We must begin to

👂hear👂those silent cries,

😞 and respond with more than just our sighs,

or everything will continue to feel 😩 awry 😩,

as life continues to pass us by.

So…

✈️ If we truly yearn for brighter skies,

we must allow ourselves to fly. ✈️

🪢 If change is to materialize,

we are not puppets; we must cut those ties. 🪢

👥 We can not continue to generalize,

for people are not meant to be summarized. 👥

💭 We must think before we criticize.

We must work together; UNIFY. 💭

👀 We must do more than simply recognize

all the injustices we need to revise. 👀

Let's step out of our comfort zone,

🔎 scrutinize, 🔎

let our 🗣 voices 🗣

be heard; testify.
