Eyes Closed

Making sense of life

My eyes close and in the immediate darkness

Nothing

But wait, what light in distance breaks

Not bright but

Like gossamer

Filaments of shifting grays looming larger and brighter

slowly separating ...

Into two, spreading

Looming closer .. Or is it larger?

I wonder . and wait . and watch

Gathering more light

I see a multicolored phantasm of hues

Translucently juxtaposed on the

Fading darkness as

wings take form in the growing light,

glistening with 10,000 overtones: I am lifted by symphonies from the most vibrant and feel the most base in the roots of my soul.

I taste and smell the reds and blues, feel the weight of heavy colors like a cloak as others beckon me, pulling strings known and not, before...

In this moment, life makes sense.
