Eye of The Future

A poem

Revealing only a fraction of what lies within

No one will ever know the whole truth

A single image of my life

One sentence, one slice of time

They can never capture the vastness of the world

That I carry inside me

Hidden beneath my eyelids

Pulsing with colours so vivid

That I must shield my eyes

To protect them from the radiance shining from within

Darkness, light, and all that lies between

In the end, it all matters

They will never know, judgment prevails

It is easier that way, better for their selfish nature

This way

They need not judge what they do not do themselves

They can hurl at me

All those old, mistaken judgments

That no longer matter

And yet

They are useful to me in a way

They enrich

The pages

Of my fictional tales

Flesh-and-blood characters

Are better than invented caricatures
