As the time ticks I’m taken back
The roar of the disenchanted is my Delorean
Transported to a world in which it seems we’re running out of time
The grains fall with contempt as I view us on the brink.
I am an extra puzzle piece
Nothing more, nothing less.
With eyes filled with hope and yearning, I gaze upon the world
As I utilize 1/5th of my senses across the globe,
I notice there’s no where for me to fit in.
Lost and distrustful I stare down the finished product
I’m flushed with envy
Where do I belong?
For I am merely an extra puzzle piece
