Exploring Fear

A Quick Trip

An unlicensed driver.

An unwanted friend.

Like voicemails from banks,

Alerts blinking red.

We fight or we fly

With a single phone call

From brain to body

How easy we fall.

Scratching for attention

Fighting for space

That could only be given

We didn't have to race.

But "Go, Go, Go!"

Don't ever stop!

I bet that sounds

A LOT like your job!

So many masks,

One is not enough time,

But fear wears you like a coat,

Fear does you like crime.

Call it energy, call it resource,

It's free to be used.

But it works both ways

And fear needs to be moved.

Into water, onto ground,

In the sky, in fires red,

Mewling for milk,

Fear must always be fed.

In you there are two wolves,

I'm just kidding. That's a joke.

Humour is the relief from fear,

But today, fear spoke.

I have my own flavor,

And so you too have your own,

Fear says we are different but,

Volume down?

You're not alone.
