expectations vs. reality

the fight between our hearts and mind

love.

a word that produces nausea and nostalgia.

there is no such thing.

humans abuse this so-called emotion to fill a void.

a gap.

a hole.

sure,

there are many different forms of love.

there is adhesive love,

being drawn to one's mentality and the way they view certain aspects of life.

there is fleshly love,

loving one's body.

their features.

their flaws.

perhaps it's sexual desire

or perhaps you simply admire the creation that lays beneath you in all its bared glory.

then there's unwavering love.

loving someone simply because you pity yourself and the lack of affection you may receive in your own life.

maybe they pity you.

yet, to me,

there is only lust.

a world where you crave someone solely for the purpose of not ending up alone yourself.

using their form to shape you into someone worthy of love.

so yes,

love is just a word.

a transaction.

we can turn it on. and we can turn it off.
