Excruciating Goodbyes

The smoke filters in
and corrupts my failing lungs.
The smokestack laughs.
-
From its distance, it
pours out its corrosive pains,
leaving me choking.
-
Your breathing did the
same too, starting to fail.
The sea took you then.
-
As the rain fell, I
spoke excruciating
goodbyes, falling
-
Back into the pit,
I’d tried so hard to escape,
I’ll never get out.
