Evocation

What are children if not vessels to be filled and then grown?

By 7th HeavenPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

Call my name, Call my name, Call my name

Fill me with your selfish wishes, desires, and hopes

Whisper in the night to me

of your love and devotion

Prepare for my arrival

by constructing altars, lighting incense

But remember

Call my name, Call my name, Call my name

Scream my name, Scream my name, Scream my name

For it is through pain and blood sacrifice that I shall come

“But it shall be worth it”

You say

“For they shall grant us our wishes, desires, and hopes

Make our sacrifices worth it

One of His angels for our own”

A naive, selfish, yet oh-so human thought

A savior to pluck you from your waves of sadness

Yet still I come

Wings outspread, eyes closed, wailing the song of the heavens

I am their angel

For now

Sing my name, Sing my name, Sing my name

Praise my name, Praise my name, Praise my name

For your exodus to this land of barbarians has been rewarded

An angel is borne, a vessel to fill as you will

Unfortunately I’m not so empty as you think

You quickly learn

To split me intwo

“good” and “bad”

Lay all your burdens upon me

And if I collapse you smack me, scold me, kill me

No longer am I the angel you so wanted

Curse my name, Curse my name, Curse my name

Curse my name, Twist my name, Change my name

Transform me as you see fit

For I am an angel no longer

To free you from

The light inside of your heads

That scalds that burns my wings away

You called me, You praised me, You loved me

Or so you said

I was born an angel

But devils are made

It’s silly to fear us

All we want is for you to

Call our name, Call our name, Call our name
