Except the last stanza, other stanzas are based on Ecclesiastes, one of the wisdom books of the Old Testament.

Everything is meaningless; all futile

Even Sun, Earth, Wind exist only a while

We are all born condemned to die

Nothing changes, whatever we cry

Rivers keep going back to ocean ground

Wind keeps moving round and round

What has been done will be done again

Nothing is new, our life is in vain..

All the wealth and health you grow

As a pursuit of wind, out they flow

Knowledge and skill change how they look

We are all same, be it fool, wise or a crook

To everything there is a season

That goes beyond all our reason

What came from dust goes back to dust

Between lies power, wealth and lust..

Righteous bear the brunt of wickedness

Wicked reaps the fruits of virtuous

None can claim to know what lies ahead

Wisdom is knowing we can't comprehend

Yet, a breathing dog is better than lion without breath

Dead knows nothing; living knows of death

Love, hate, envy of dead have all gone

They no longer play a part in the dawn..

So enjoy your part in this very fleeting life

In everything you do, let happiness be rife

Use now knowledge, planning and all the wisdom

In the place you are going, you won't get to use them

Cast your bread upon the waters

It may reach back to your quarters..

Sow seeds in land and in people around

You never know which breaks ground

Learn to rejoice the present story

Be it gory or be filled with glory

Be glad, young at heart; never brutal

Remember, everything to come is futile

If the love child is born as observer in heart

Sorrow is banished; Pain casts apart

Make it the shepherd that shows the path

Nothing is futile, till we breathe the last.
