Everything After August

Last day of August

Been Twelve

One

Each for each day

Counting crows

I once looked forward to August,

And everything after

Post-it display

Rigid planner

Fresh ledge pin border

manilla organizer

Flags shiver

at first fluorescent flicker

Hopes, rest silent

Delivered to hands, desk folded

Ready.

For August, and everything after

today is the last day

Tomorrow brings September

I write no. eleven

in calculation

of a Friday

March

Total unbalance

Thirteen or Fourteen

I awoke in a classroom

counting crows

omen

I once looked forward to summer's end

Now, there's no comfort in August

and everything after it

.
