Every Sunrise Gives You Another Chance
A powerful poem about hope, redemption, and beginning again after failure.

THEY do me wrong who say I come no more
When once I knock and fail to find you in
For every day I stand outside your door
And bid you wake, and rise to fight and win.
Wail not for precious chances passed away!
Weep not for golden ages on the wane!
Each night I burn the records of the day,
At sunrise every soul is born again!
Dost thou behold thy lost youth all aghast?
Dost reel from righteous Retribution’s blow?
Then turn from blotted archives of the past
And find the future’s pages white as snow.
Art thou a mourner? Rouse thee from thy spell;
Art thou a sinner? Sins may be forgiven.
Each morning gives thee wings to flee from hell,
Each night a star to guide thy feet to heaven.
Laugh like a boy at splendors that have sped,
To vanished joys be blind and deaf and dumb.
My judgments seal the dead past with its dead,
But never bind a moment yet to come.
Though deep in mire, wring not your hands and weep,
I lend my arm to all who say, “I can!”
No shame-faced outcast ever sank so deep
But yet might rise and be again a man!
- A powerful poem about hope, redemption, and beginning again after failure.
- This inspiring poem delivers a timeless message about hope, forgiveness, and the endless opportunities life gives us to begin again. The speaker presents each new sunrise as a symbol of renewal, reminding humanity that failure, regret, and sorrow should never define the future. Instead of mourning lost chances, the poem urges readers to rise again with courage and determination.
- the opening stanza, the poet speaks as if hope itself is standing outside every human door, waiting patiently each morning. Even when people ignore its call or fall into despair, hope never disappears. Every new day invites us to awaken, fight our struggles, and continue moving toward victory. The message isIn deeply encouraging because it teaches that opportunities do not vanish forever.
- The second stanza focuses on the idea of rebirth. The poet advises readers not to cry over wasted years or missed chances because every night erases the failures of the previous day. With every sunrise, the soul is spiritually renewed and given another opportunity to grow, improve, and change. This creates a beautiful image of life constantly offering fresh beginnings.
- The third stanza speaks directly to those haunted by regret and painful memories. The poet tells readers to stop staring at the ruined pages of the past and instead look toward the unwritten future. The future is compared to “white as snow,” symbolizing purity, hope, and limitless possibilities. No matter how dark the past may seem, tomorrow still remains untouched.
- The poem then turns toward mourners and sinners, offering comfort and forgiveness. Those trapped in sadness are encouraged to rise from despair, while those burdened by guilt are reminded that forgiveness is always possible. Morning becomes a symbol of escape from darkness, while the stars at night represent divine guidance leading people toward peace and salvation.
- In the next stanza, the poet encourages readers to stop clinging to vanished joys and lost beauty. Life continues to move forward, and although the past is sealed forever, the future remains free. This powerful idea reminds us that no mistake or sorrow can imprison the moments yet to come.
- Finally, the poem ends with one of its most uplifting messages. Even people who have fallen deeply into failure, shame, or suffering can still rise again. The poet extends a helping hand to all who believe in themselves and dare to say, “I can.” The ending transforms the poem into a universal message of resilience and redemption.
- Overall, this poem is a deeply emotional reminder that every sunrise carries new hope. It teaches readers to leave regret behind, embrace second chances, and believe that no soul is ever truly lost as long as the courage to rise again still remains.
