Ever Where

The Road Drops Here

The Present - Atlas the Kid

A wisp of smoke, a breath of air

The toxic moat of ever where

The burning stopped one day I heard

But on that day they burned the words

And on that day I packed a sac

Of that I trapped, not given back

Not given time to mourn your youth

In fact no time to live in truth

Of god they speak, I left alone

For All of God, he bid me roam

From home, my nature often missed

Alone, enthroned in fireโ€™s bliss

The flames of change, oftโ€™ evil cast

The visage vile, but earth is glass

And ash, and unworked heathen stone

So light the hearth, the earth is bone

The bone is mine, the blood is not

Across the plains of hope I sought

To forge a way, when one is clear

My anvil shame, my hammer fear

Iโ€™m still out here in my despair

The toxic moat of ever where

I steel my heart, depart this stage

Still in search of that distant cave
