“Almost there…” Elena whispered, sweat trickling down her brow.

The lights flickered, and alarms blared, signaling the approach of another reset. “We need to execute the changes now!” David shouted over the chaos. With trembling hands, they input the final parameters.

The station lurched violently, the instruments howling as they fought against the gravitational pull. Elena gripped the console, heart racing, as the looming darkness of the black hole seemed to envelop them.

Then, silence. The alarms ceased, and the station floated in a heavy stillness. Elena exchanged a glance with David, uncertainty shadowing her eyes. “Did we do it?”
