It’s evening and the sun sets
And makes its palette on the river pool
Where water settles to rest
And brook trout idle
In the green fronds
where frogs reside-
And a lonely fowl drifts
Breaking the glassy surface
With its crested breach
Its dark head lowered
As though in prayer or pilgrimage
A pensive pilgrim
A lonely loon
drifting towards the sun’s reflection-
It finds its place and vanishes
Just a moment on the threshold
Before emerging in the middle
Back lit and luminous
Transcended
Like a shadow transformed to light
A luminous loon
Which guides the pool to rest
About the Creator
Judah LoVato
My collection of sometimes decent writing
Which I've left "there" for seekers to seek
Though I lack the grandeur of that Pirate King
Perhaps these pebbles can be a light
In this life, this laughing tale
