''Not the Promise of the Tale''

In tales where time stands still,

And love defies the end,

We dream of "ever afters,"

A world of endless summers,

Where joy knows no decay,

And shadows cannot stay.

But life, in all its wonder,

Holds more than simple dreams,

For "ever afters" often hide,

In places unforeseen.

It's in the quiet moments,

In the battles that we face,

In the love that endures the storm,

Not the promise of the tale,

It’s in the steps we choose to take,

When the fairytale seems frail.
