Jaws snap shut,
a roar stifled.
Because even a dinosaur,
in all its might,
still has fear.
Insecurity,
a need for belonging
and an understanding of
intuition.
A dinosaur, even in the dark,
can still long for its mother-
wondering where she went
and why she left
and why she never came back.
So tough and mighty,
this beast.
This young girl.
A woman with scales for skin,
a protective layer,
Unbroken only on the outside.
A roar stifled,
a plea unheard,
a need unmet.
An ache that will only be found
in generations of ice ages and
in fossils long
after she's
dead.
