Europeans

Not here

Our points of view

derived from the same space

contradict instead of match

the matter of delicacy

woven on unequalled canvas

from European landscapes

Sometimes from the mountains

sometimes from the sea

or from the forest

or the beach

Yet usually

having the same core

of a better life

we deliberately drew for ourselves

in the shade

of the opposite sun

sprinkled with stardust from the moonlight

reiterating over and over again

where did we come from

and what is the purpose of that

impossibility of comprehending the truth

from a decisively detailed deformed angle

When home won’t smell like home

I think it’s time to leave

Mescaline Brisset

if it doesn't come bursting out of you

in spite of everything,

unless it comes unasked out of your

heart and your mind and your mouth

and your gut,

don't do it.
