It's hard enough to sum up a life
Once someone has died
A piece of writing is not enough
To express just how hard a person tried
Now what if your loss
Was not one of the dead
But a spark you once saw in yourself
That now resonates in your head
Locked away and out of reach
Laughing at your insecurity
And no matter how hard you try
You can never again be carefree
So this is to my childhood
An exciting wonderful place
That after so many years of living
Disappeared without a trace
How delightful it would be
To play there once again
Because nothing will ever be as fun
As life when you were under ten
