Eternity's Price

The Haunting Aftermath of War

The war raged on, for what seemed eternity,

With bombs and guns and death, the only fraternity,

The fighters fought, with a fearless bravery,

Never realising, the price of their slavery.

With shattered dreams and shattered bones,

They marched on, with all their moans,

The afterlife of war, a somber emptiness,

Untold pain and suffering, a pit of darkness.

The widows wept, the children cried,

The silence of death, the only thing that lied,

The graves marked as milestones of loss,

A reminder of the war's immense cost.

Memories of the war, forever etched in minds,

Pain never subsides, always wind in dreads bind,

The aftermath of war, a haunting reality,

A proof of savagery, with no rationale to morality.

So, let's strive for peace, and shun the war,

Let's cherish life, and avoid the gore,

For every life matters, whether rich or poor,

Let's stop the war, breathe a new life for evermore.
