Eternity Is Forever When You’re Dead

Eternity stretches farther than the eye can see,

Beyond every mountain and every sea,

A distance measured by neither sun nor moon,

A journey beginning far too soon.

The years we count while living here,

Disappear when eternity draws near,

Time no longer rules the day,

Its power quietly fades away.

No calendars mark another dawn,

No waiting for tomorrow to come along,

Every moment simply stays,

Wrapped within endless days.

People speak of forever with uncertain minds,

Searching for answers they seldom find,

Trying to understand a place unknown,

Far beyond flesh and bone.

Perhaps eternity feels like peace,

A place where all struggles cease,

Where every burden left behind,

Can never trouble the mind.

Loved ones separated by passing years,

May meet again beyond their fears,

Joined together side by side,

Nothing left to divide.

The worries carried throughout life,

The endless battles and daily strife,

May fade like footprints in the sand,

Swept away by a gentle hand.

Though mystery surrounds the end,

Many believe the soul ascends,

Continuing on a different road,

Free from every earthly load.

Forever is difficult to comprehend,

A story with no final end,

A river flowing endlessly on,

Long after the world is gone.

Eternity remains a silent door,

Leading somewhere forevermore,

A thought that stays within the heart,

Even while we’re worlds apart.
